Now a major motion picture.

Dale Eisler is the author of three books. Anton is his first novel.

The story

Set in a German-speaking village of the Black Sea region of Russia during the tumultuous wake of the Great War and Russian Revolution, Anton is the story of a young boy trying to cope with the suffering and violence he witnesses. Slowly, Anton and his friend Kaza, a young Muslim boy, begin to comprehend the reality of their lives as their friendship deepens in the adversity they share.

A fictionalized account based on a true story, Anton explores the little-known  fate of German immigrants to Ukraine during a violent and dark period in Russia. It gives meaning and significance to a friendship forged during a period of great conflict that helps shelter Anton and Kaza from an adult world driven by vengeance.
